Instructions
The CEDEN Data Checker is used to check CEDEN data submissions for errors prior to submittal.
The Checker validates business rules and ensures that approved
controlled vocabulary are used.
Currently, only Chemistry and Field data may be submitted through the CEDEN Data Checker to the Water Boards Data Center.
If you need to submit other data types, please contact one of the California
Regional Data Centers.
To check a file, the file must have less than 5,000 rows of data (maximum number of results per file is 4,999).
The Checker will process your file and return a summary of Errors and Warnings.
- Click "View Results" to see the Excel row number and value that is causing each Error/Warning.
- You will also receive an email with an Excel file attached that contains a list of Errors and Warnings.
- You may check your file as many times as you would like.
All Errors must be resolved to be able to submit the file to CEDEN. A file with Warnings may be submitted, but it is recommended that Warnings are resolved to the extent appropriate to ensure data are usable.
Once submitted, the data are uploaded to the
CEDEN Augmentation ‒ Field & Lab Chemistry Data
website within three (3) months.
